ZOLL Medical Corporation, a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that as a result of its continued growth it purchased a 124,500-square-foot building in San Jose, California, an area ranked as the country’s busiest advanced manufacturing corridor1.
ZOLL will transition from Sunnyvale, California, to its new facility on Ringwood Avenue following a renovation, which gets underway in January 2014.
“We are thrilled by the demand for ZOLL’s temperature management business, which has grown at a consistent rate since it began in 2009,” said James Palazzolo, President of ZOLL. “We currently employ 225 highly skilled professionals, and the move to San Jose will allow us to continue our growth by giving us the space we need to add jobs and support new products, acquire new businesses, and insource key operations in our supply chain.”
“I’m pleased to welcome ZOLL to San Jose,” Mayor Chuck Reed said. “As the Capital of Silicon Valley, there is no better place in the world for advanced manufacturing companies to start and grow their business. I thank ZOLL for investing in San Jose and for their commitment to creating more jobs in Silicon Valley.”
ZOLL’s California operation is responsible for the development and manufacture of the company’s intravascular temperature management system (IVTM™) and the AutoPulse® Non-invasive Cardiac Support Pump. ZOLL IVTM offers health care providers the power and control they need to rapidly, safely, and effectively manage the core body temperature of critically ill or surgical patients. The revolutionary AutoPulse is an automated, portable chest compression device. It is the only mechanical CPR system to have shown improved survival in comparative clinical trials2.
