5 questions you need to ask when engaging a medical device outsourcer

A methodical, structured process is key when lining up a medical device outsourcer. That was one of the top takeaways from a webinar that Medical Design & Outsourcing held with top officials at contract manufacturing giant Integer last week.

“It’s time well spent to do your due diligence, to dig into these details, and to pick the right partner,” said Joe Flanagan, EVP quality and regulatory at Integer.

 

The webinar presentation included an infographic from Integer with five key questions when assessing a medical device outsourcer. Mike Druding, senior director of engineering at Integer, cautioned the questions aren’t about checking the box, either. there needs to be objective understanding.

Aligning values is especially important. “Are the values and the strategies aligned between the two companies? ‘Cause if they’re not, if they’re there for two very different reasons, that relationship is not gonna work,” Druding said.
