Alma Lasers announced that it has completed the first step in acquiring its Israeli distributor, Nova Medical. The acquisition will enable Alma, a Sisram Medical company, to extend its business outreach and establish a direct-to-consumer operation in Israel.
Alma provides laser, light-based, radiofrequency, plasma and ultrasound solutions for the aesthetic and surgical markets. As an energy-based medical and aesthetic solutions provider, the firm is known in the United States for its tattoo removal, skin resurfacing, and hair removal units. Established in 2003, Nova Medical is a large distributor of medical aesthetic technology-based devices in Israel, serving plastic surgeons, dermatologists, general practitioners and cosmetologists, as well as medical and aesthetic clinic chains, and spas and fitness centers.
Once the acquisition is complete, Alma will hold a 60% stake in Nova Medical. The move helps Alma deliver on its plan to maintain a leading position and strengthen brand awareness among consumers, Alma said in a statement.
Nova’s strong market presence in Israel and its ability to launch in new product domains such as injectables, make it a desirable long-term partner for clinically proven technologies and treatments, added Alma CEO Lior Dayan.
