Biomedical Systems, a 40-year-old, family-owned clinical trial provider to pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech and contract research organizations, has announced the appointment of Robin Marc Akers as the new VP of business development.
Akers brings over 20 years of life science sales and sales leadership experience to Biomedical Systems. He joins Biomedical Systems from Southern Research Institute where he led the global business development team for the drug development division. He has held other senior sales positions at organizations such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, DuPont and DynaVox Technologies.
“I am thrilled to join Biomedical Systems,” said Akers. “The company has a long history, under the same family ownership, and a solid reputation in the market place. I am excited to apply some of my experience leading sales teams to accelerate growth, increase revenue and market share for the organization.”
Akers earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel in 1986 and holds Masters degrees from Paris-Sorbonne University (MA) and Webster University (MBA).
