A 2-way, normally closed latching valve requires only a burst of energy to lift the plunger into the open position, and then it is held in place by the permanent magnet. The valve is powered off and remains open until another electrical charge of opposite polarity, is applied.
This is ideal for applications where the valve remains open for long periods or if the valve is battery powered and must conserve as much energy as possible.
