New Ulm, Minn.–based Windings makes specialty electrical motors, generators and the sub-assemblies, including for medical products such as surgical power tools, surgical robots, fluid pumps and laboratory centrifuges. The company plans to spend a total $7.9 million to buy a new 60,000-square-foot facility in New Ulm and then add another 10,000 square feet to it. The project will create another 20 jobs over the next three years, with DEED providing a $175,000 Minnesota Job Creation Fund award.
Otsego, Minn.–based New Plastics Plus is a certified ISO9001/2015 custom thermoform manufacture. Its medical thermoformed products include sterile plastic packaging and enclosures, housings and covers for medical devices and equipment. The company is spending about $7.2 million to build a new 91,000-square-foot facility in St. Michael, Minn., with plans to create about 10 new jobs over the next three years. DEED is providing the company a $255,000 Minnesota Job Creation Fund award.
