New Safe Chain Track & Trace T3 management system provides ultimate traceability

October 23, 2015 By MDO Editor

Safe_Chain_Solutions-logoSafe Chain Solutions, a Benchworks Company, announced that it has added Safe Chain Track and Trace™ to the solutions they offer to the healthcare industry. The all-in-one comprehensive T3 (Pedigree) management system automates traceability, providing and maintaining interoperable electronic tracing of drugs at the lot number-level to ensure compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA).

Beginning July 1, 2015, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) required that dispensers provide lot-level product tracing with transaction information, history, and statements to their customers to enhance secure drug tracing and safety throughout the pharmaceutical supply chain. The Safe Chain Track and Trace T3 Management System meets the FDA’s requirements, ensuring that Safe Chain is in compliance with the new regulation. Safe Chain has also made modifications to its system that permit customers to track their orders and proof of deliveries (POD) from the Safe Chain Track & Trace website.

The Safe Chain Track and Trace solution creates T3 documents for all customers. This gives customers complete online access to all their transaction details, including:

  • Lot number
  • Product details such as product description and manufacturer
  • Transfer information
  • Transaction information such as physical location
  • Transaction statement
  • Pedigree (available for download)
  • Tracking of shipments

Safe Chain President and Partner Charles Boyd commented on the Safe Chain Track and Trace system, saying, “This new system exceeds all of the standards that are required by the FDA. It gives our customers peace of mind knowing that Safe Chain is in compliance, and that they can quickly and easily get the information they need about their transactions. Patient safety is our highest priority and we’re dedicated to this through security and integrity throughout the pharmaceutical supply chain.”
