NuVasive, Inc., a medical device company focused on developing minimally disruptive surgical products and procedures for the spine, is pleased to announce that the XLIF Anterior Column Realignment (ACR) procedure was recognized by Becker’s Spine Review for its contribution to advancing spine technology and patient care.
The XLIF ACR procedure is intended for use at either one or two contiguous levels in the lumbar spine and for patients with degenerative disc disease.
The innovative system allows surgeons to treat patients with global sagittal imbalance through the anterior column using a minimally disruptive technique. The procedure was developed to decrease or eliminate the need for patients to undergo invasive posterior procedures — the previous treatment method for global sagittal imbalance.
The XLIF ACR procedure is advantageous for surgeons and patients because it focuses on improving patient outcomes through less blood loss and minimal time spent in the hospital, thus leading to fewer complications.
