Saelig introduces Amplicon Impact-D 100 high-specification DINrail PC

August 18, 2015 By MDO Editor

Saelig controller

This small (6.3 x 3.2 x 5.7 in.) and lightweight (less than 3 lb.) controller is ideal for installations requiring high reliability and where space is at a premium. With a typical power draw of 10 W, this embedded system can be powered by either a battery or solar panel when installed in remote installations.

Saelig Company announces release of the Amplicon Impact-D 100 which is a compact, fan-less embedded PC powered by the latest quad core ATOM processor, the Intel ATOM E3845. Amplicon has carefully chosen the components and CPU family to ensure optimal performance versus heat and power consumption, so that it will control equipment 24/7 with many years of maintenance-free operation.

The Intel ATOM E3845 processor embraces advanced technologies such as the Intel Gen.7 graphics engine, high bandwidth DDR3L 1333MHz memory, Burst Technology 2.0, dynamic power sharing and quad-core power, with 64-Bit OS compatibility as standard. The graphics engine brings advanced graphics bursts, OpenGL ES 3.3 and hardware video codec acceleration including H.264, MPEG2 and MVC, all in resolutions of up to 2560 x 1600 with a GPU shader capable of up to 8 gigaflops. The ATOM quad-core technology supports 4 cores and 4 threads with 2MB of L2 Cache. This makes the device run faster and more responsively by allowing multiple applications and services to run at the same time.

The Impact-D 100 integrates advanced technologies, while still offering support for legacy serial communication protocols. The unit houses four DB9 connectors for serial communications: COM1, 3 and 4 support RS232, while COM2 supports RS232, 422 and 485.

Further product technical details and documentation can be found here.

With a compact design, rich legacy support and new technology, wide power input of 9 to 36 VDC and support for wi-fi and cellular connections, the Impact-D 100 is a versatile and adaptive control solution for a wide range of applications such as solar power, transportation, security, safety, POS and industrial automation, and comes with a 3 year warranty.
