The Southeastern Medical Device Association (SEMDA) is pleased to announce the launch of Medtech Women @ SEMDA, a group within the organization dedicated to enhancing opportunities for women in the medical technology industry.
Tiffany Wilson, Executive Director of the Global Center for Medical Innovation, a SEMDA Board Member, and the Chair of Medtech Women @ SEMDA, laid out the vision of the group.
“Our vision is to serve as a strong advisory network for mentoring and professional development for female professionals and innovators across the medical technology industry in the Southeast,” said Wilson. “We want to see more women positioned for executive leadership in the industry and involved in the entrepreneurial process.”
The group’s founding Advisory Board represents an impressive group of women from industry, medicine and academia that are passionate about supporting women at all levels in their careers. SEMDA will be organizing various networking events across the region as well as webinars on a range of topics to promote leadership development and deep understanding of different industry issues. All members of the SEMDA community are encouraged to participate in this program.
“SEMDA’s mission is to make the Southeast a world-class region for the medical device industry,” said Jason Rupp, an executive director of SEMDA. “This initiative is an integral part of that mission by enhancing the opportunities for female engineers, entrepreneurs and other industry professionals in the Southeast.”
