Spirol has completed construction of its world headquarters and largest global manufacturing facility, located in Danielson, Conn.
The expansion that began in early 2016 includes significant additional manufacturing space, new state-of-the-art warehouses for raw material and finished goods, a new quality lab and office space, new flooring, updated lighting, and significant investments in new production technology. This effort expanded the manufacturing area by approximately 40%.
Spirol was founded 71 years ago with the invention of the coiled spring pin. It also manufactures slotted spring pins, solid pins, alignment dowels and bushings, spacers, compression limiters, threaded inserts for plastics, disc springs, precision shims, pin installation equipment, insert installation equipment, compression limiter installation equipment and high-performance feeding systems.
Spirol now has locations on four continents and 13 countries, according to CEO Jeff Koehl, grandson of founder Herman Koehl. In total, there are 13 manufacturing, sales and full-service distribution facilities across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
