Paul Carlson has been named president and CEO of Tolomatic (Hamel, Minn.), a longtime supplier of electric linear actuators, pneumatic actuators and power transmission products for factory automation.
Carlson has more than 30 years of manufacturing experience serving a broad spectrum of industrial, commercial, food and beverage markets globally. Most recently, Carlson was VP of the commercial and residential solutions division of Emerson Electric, responsible for growing business for global brands including Copeland and Dixell.
Carlson also served as president of Control Products, a family-owned manufacturer of custom electronic controls, sensors and electromechanical assemblies for OEM customers. His experience includes extensive selling through distribution and some direct sales. Carlson holds multiple patents and has experience in design and development engineering from Cornelius, Coca-Cola and Trane Companies.
Carlson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University, Winona, Minn., and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.

Tolomatic’s product line also includes servo-driven high-force actuators and configured linear-motion systems. The company’s electric linear and pneumatic actuators are used in a variety of industries, including the automotive, packaging, material handling, medical, food processing, entertainment and general automation industries.
