Plymouth, MN – Trelleborg has finalized the acquisition of Baron Group, the prominent Australian-Chinese company manufacturing advanced precision silicone components.

Baron Group strengthens the position of Trelleborg Medical Solutions as a global partner for medical technology products in areas such as sleep apnea, respiratory care and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). By substantially expanding manufacturing capacity for injection molding of silicone and plastics and increasing global manufacturing capacity for liquid silicone rubber (LSR), the acquisition fortifies the presence of Trelleborg Medical Solutions in Asia and Australia. This enables the company to effectively meet customers’ growing needs for global partnerships while leveraging anticipated growth in Asia Pacific and North America.

Linda Muroski, President of Trelleborg Medical Solutions, says: “The acquisition of Baron Group marks a significant milestone in our ambition to provide comprehensive healthcare and medical services to our customers. The company’s complementary culture and similar working methods make Baron Group an excellent addition to Trelleborg’s existing offerings. We are convinced that this partnership will generate significant sales and production synergies.

“Through Baron Group we will leverage high-volume production and engineered solutions offering expanded capabilities for liquid silicone rubber using their state-of-the art tooling. Our new facility in Costa Rica will be very valuable in supporting this acquisition and providing Baron’s key customers with nearshoring production in the Americas.”

In 2025 Trelleborg Medical Solutions is scheduled to complete a new 107,600 square feet/10,000 square meters manufacturing facility in the Evolution Free Zone Industrial Park in the Alajuela Province of Costa Rica. The new facility supports Trelleborg Healthcare & Medical’s strategic goal to help customers consolidate their value chains, reducing overall costs. As the company’s first facility in Central America, it will facilitate supply chain continuity through a global manufacturing and distribution base.

Trelleborg Medical Solutions now comprises 15 production facilities in the Americas, Europe, China, Asia and Australia, four Innovation Centers and four Customer Solutions Centers. The business serves customers globally with capabilities including silicone molding, extrusion, sheeting, dipping and coating; overmolding; plastic injection molding; multicomponent manufacturing; biopharmaceutical solutions; and other technologies.
