NEWS RELEASE: Velosity Earns Prestigious Minnesota Safety Council Governor’s Workplace Safety Award

Dedication Secures Gold Standard Recognition

FOREST LAKE, MN — Velosity, a leading contract manufacturing organization for medical devices, will be honored for its outstanding commitment to workplace safety and health during the 2024 Minnesota Safety and Health Conference on April 30 and May 1. Velosity joins an esteemed group of 244 employers recognized through the awards program, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council. The company is set to receive the highly esteemed Gold Achievement Award in recognition of its exemplary performance in occupational injury prevention throughout the year 2023.

Paul Aasen, CEO of the Minnesota Safety Council, commended Velosity’s dedication to safety, stating, “Keeping the people we work and live with safe is a full-time job. Congratulations to Velosity for investing the time and energy to make work and life safer inside their organization and beyond.”

“This recognition underscores Velosity’s unwavering commitment to safety,” said Dave Hemink, CEO of Velosity. “At our core, the safety and well-being of our employees have always been paramount.”  “Our Velosity safety committee continuously refines safety protocols based on audits and employee feedback, ensuring the effectiveness and relevance of our programs. We’re deeply honored by the Minnesota Safety Council’s recognition, affirming the efficacy of our comprehensive safety measures. Velosity remains steadfast in our pursuit of safety excellence, maintaining the highest standards across every aspect of our organization,” added Hemink.

Since 1934, the annual Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards program has celebrated Minnesota employers with exceptional safety performance. Applicants undergo rigorous evaluation based on several years of injury data compared with national and state statistics for their respective industries, as well as their progress in implementing comprehensive safety programs.
