Researchers in the U.S., Europe and China are also racing to create a coronavirus vaccine — with the competition gaining a nationalistic edge — but pharmaceutical industry leaders say don’t expect a vaccine for at least 12 to 18 months, according to a report out yesterday in The New York Times.Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) announced on March 13 that its Janssen Pharmaceutical Cos. has forged a partnership with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) to support coronavirus vaccine development. The goal is to start a Phase 1 clinical study of a potential vaccine candidate by the end of the year.
