Applied Plastics today announced that Thomas Barrett was appointed as CEO, effective immediately.
The Norwood, Mass.-based company’s founder and former CEO Dave Ring will become executive chairman and assist in setting strategic direction and technology development.
“My father and I built this company and I have full confidence in what Tom will bring to the table,” Ring said in a press release. “Through his guidance and our partnership with Vance Street Capital, we will see tremendous growth and advancement in our services.”
Barrett has nearly 30 years of international medical device and contract manufacturing experience. Before joining Applied Plastics, Barrett was president of Oerlikon AM Medical where he was responsible for leading the commercialization of additive technology in orthopedics. He has also held a number of leadership roles at Tecomet, Medrobotics, Keystone Dental, Lake Region Medical and Stryker.
