FUCHS Lubricants Co., the world’s largest independent lubricant manufacturer, highlights NYEMED 7477, a high-performance, general-purpose grease engineered for medical device environments where durability and patient safety are critical. Designed for applications exposed to thermal stress, mechanical load, and repeated sterilization cycles, NYEMED 7477 delivers consistent lubrication performance that supports long-term reliability in a broad range of medical devices.

NYEMED 7477 provides exceptional mechanical stability and operates across a wide temperature range from -50 to 250°C, making it suitable for high-speed gears, precision bearings, and sliding mechanisms. Its formulation offers superb resistance to oxidation, chemicals, and moisture, helping motion components maintain stable performance and reducing the risk of drift over the life of the device.

A key advantage of NYEMED 7477 is its high inertness and broad material compatibility with the plastics, elastomers, and other polymers widely used in medical devices. The grease resists chemical interaction with these materials, preserving component integrity and allowing engineers to standardize on a single lubricant across multiple platforms without concerns about swelling, cracking, or other forms of material degradation. This simplifies design validation and can streamline qualification efforts for OEMs consolidating lubrication specifications.

To support safety and regulatory requirements, NYEMED 7477 is certified for biocompatibility per ISO 10993-5, -10, and -11, making it suitable for devices that may have direct or indirect patient contact. Its stability under common sterilization methods helps ensure that damping and lubrication properties remain intact after repeated cleaning cycles, which is especially important for reusable instruments that must deliver predictable performance over many procedures.
