The epoxy has a mixed viscosity of 150-300 cps and is ideal for underfill, impregnation and porosity sealing applications, as well as bonding, coating and encapsulation.
EP62-1LSPSMed features high wetting properties and can flow by capillary action in tight clearances or under devices while attaching to metals, plastics, composites, polyamides, glissando ceramic substrates.
Master Bond’s epoxy has a long working life of 12-24 hours for a 100 g mass. It needs moderate heat to cure and is cured overnight at room temperature followed by 60-90 minutes at 80-100ºC.
The new epoxy meets USP Class VI and ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity requirements and has been tested for 1,000 hours at 85ºC/85% RH.
It has a tensile strength of 11,000-12,000 psi and can withstand ethylene oxide, radiation and chemical sterilization. It is also serviceable from 4K to 400ºF and can transmit light in its thinnest sections. EP62-1LPSPMed has a Shore D hardness of 75-85 and has a glass transition temperature of 125-130ºC.
Master Bond EP62-1LPSPMed epoxy comes in a number of standard sizes including half pint, pint, quart, gallon and five gallon kits. It has a shelf life of six months.
