Company officials will show off the BioWire system at Booth #C68 at the Florida International Medical Expo (FIME 2019), June 26-28, at the Miami Beach Convention Centre.
“We’re justifiably excited about this product and its potential, and FIME is an ideal venue to introduce it,” Steve Epstein, president of Nikomed, said in a news release. “Select groups of caregivers who have previewed BioWire have been enthusiastic and given it high praise.”
Many health providers using metal leads find disposal to be a challenge because they can’t recycle the material, according to Nikomed. The company designed BioWire to be recyclable; it’s made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and silver ink.
BioWire also easily adapts to most monitoring equipment and all ECG electrodes, and its ribbon-like design allows makes it possible to write or apply a label on the wiring itself, according to Nikomed.
The BioWire system is in its final stages of development, with Nikomed officials expecting to start filling orders by the fourth quarter of 2019.
