Johnson & Johnson, Steris, Philips, Fujifilm Holdings and Boston Scientific were recently named among Forbes’ best large employers in America, based on feedback from their employees.
Forbes partnered with a market research firm to survey 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. Survey participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employer to friends and family and to nominate a business that wasn’t their own.
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) ranked 84 out of the full list of 500. The New Brunswick, N.J.-based company has a 4.2 out of 5-star rating on the job board website Glassdoor. Johnson & Johnson, founded in 1886, employs over 132,000 people. Its medical device segment generated $25.96 billion in revenue in 2019.
Mentor, Ohio-based Steris (NYSE:STE) ranked 105 on Forbes’s list of the best large employers in America. The company has a 3.6 out of 5-star rating on Glassdoor. Steris, in its last fiscal year, made over $3 billion in sales and employed 13,000 people. It generated $233,146 in revenue per employee.
Royal Philips (NYSE:PHG) received a ranking of 135. The Amsterdam-based company has a 3.9 out of 5-star rating on the job board website Glassdoor. Founded in 1891, Philips employed 80,495 in its 2019 fiscal year and generated $21.8 billion in revenue, or $270,926 for every one of its employees.
Tokyo-based Fujifilm (TSE:4901) ranked 148 on the list. The diagnostic imaging company reported $4.6 billion in healthcare revenue in its 2020 fiscal year and employed 73,906 people. The company made $62,241 for each one of its employees. Fujifilm has a 3.4 out of 5 star rating on Glassdoor.
Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) ranked 196 on Forbes’s list of best large employers in the U.S. Marlborough, Mass.-based Boston Scientific has a 4.3 out of 5 star rating on Glassdoor. It made $10.7 billion in revenue in its 2019 fiscal year and employed 36,000 people. For every one of its employees, Boston Scientific made $298,194 in revenue.
Siemens, Stryker, 3M, Medline Industries and Hillrom also joined the list of 500, placing 214, 242, 337, 440 and 489, respectively.
