Aurora Concussion Therapy Systems
Developed at the University of Minnesota and then spun off from the university’s Venture Center, Aurora CTS won FDA breakthrough device designation for a light therapy system in 2019.
The technology is a helmet designed to deliver therapeutic levels of non-invasive, near-infrared light to penetrate the skull, reenergize the brain’s metabolic cascade process and accelerate healing from concussions and other mild brain trauma. It distributes the light uniformly around the cortex to treat the diffuse damage that results from a concussion.
