It’s time to brush up on your German, because medical professionals, media personnel, vendors, and other guests are gathering at MEDICA in Dusseldorf, Germany, Nov. 13 – 16.
It is considered the number one trade fair for its sector, according to the MEDICA website.
Recently announced, this year the tradeshow will have about 5,000 exhibitors from over 68 nations, numerous presentations, and more freebies than you can fit in your suitcase!
The show will be addressing the changes taking place within international healthcare and will feature a MEDIC ECON FORUM, providing a platform for political discussion—specifically, how policies will affect the future of healthcare and what can be done to improve conditions.
Other topics for discussion will include digitization including networking and artificial intelligence.
Additional presentations will be given at the MEDICA CONNECTED HEALTHCARE FORUM, MEDICA HEALTH IT FORUM, and MEDICA APP COMPETITION.
Some new features include the MEDICA START –UP PARK, which will include start-up companies, providing a chance for founders to network with potential business partners and investors.
The show will also offer MEDICA ACADEMY, which consists of two workshops. Themes of the workshops include imaging, surgical procedures, and an ultrasound course. Also new is the MEDICA LABMED FORUM, which focuses on trends within laboratory medicine, molecular pathology, microbiology, and medical technology.
It will also address the “hand over of practices aimed at both young physicians looking for practices and physicians planning to pass on their practices,” according to a MEDICA press release.
While you are there, be sure to check out the robot that sets up needles for infusions and biopsies. It was presented at MEDICA 2016, and will be displayed again this year.
See you in November!
