YORK, S.C. — Bluestar Silicones today announced the launch of SILBIONE LSR 4755 PF, a perfluoroalkyl (PFAS) free, self-lubricating liquid silicone rubber (LSR) developed to help healthcare device manufacturers achieve high performance while addressing growing demand for PFAS-free material solutions.

Designed for healthcare applications involving patient contact of up to 30 days, SILBIONE LSR 4755 PF combines excellent lubricating properties with efficient processing and strong mechanical performance. The two-part, addition-cure silicone elastomer features an integrated lubricating technology that creates a non-stick surface while supporting reliable, high-volume manufacturing.

Unlike traditional self-lubricating materials that can lead to contamination in the mold, SILBIONE LSR 4755 PF incorporates delayed oil bleed technology that helps reduce mold fouling and maintain productivity. In addition to this, SILBIONE LSR 4755PF offers excellent mold release characteristics, enabling shorter cycle times and greater manufacturing efficiency. Its high tear strength and consistent processing behavior make it well suited for demanding healthcare applications where both performance and reliability are essential.

SILBIONE LSR 4755 PF is particularly well suited for components requiring enhanced lubricity performance, including needle valves, check valves, duckbill valves, one-way valves, and molded parts designed to help prevent slit healing. The material has been evaluated according to ISO 10993 requirements for applications involving less than 30 days of body contact, supporting its use in a variety of medical and healthcare devices.

“As healthcare manufacturers navigate evolving regulatory requirements and sustainability goals, they are looking for materials that deliver proven performance without compromising processing efficiency,” said Aneta Clark, NA Market Manager, Healthcare at Bluestar Silicones. “SILBIONE LSR 4755 PF provides a PFAS-free solution that combines the low friction performance customers need with excellent mold release, high tear strength and efficient manufacturing capabilities. We are excited to bring this innovative technology to the healthcare market.”

Bluestar Silicones will host an upcoming webinar featuring a case study related to SILBIONE LSR 4755 PF on October 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. EST. The webinar will explore how material innovation can address device challenges without redesign.
