Honeywell Technologies expands AI complaint processing for life sciences

October 22, 2026 By MDO Staff

NEWS RELEASE:  Honeywell Technologies introduces agentic AI functionality for life sciences manufacturers to automate regulatory compliance and scale quality operations

New TrackWise Digital capabilities are designed to optimize efficiency and lower complaint processing costs with less manual oversight needed.

HOUSTON — Honeywell Technologies (NASDAQ: HON) today announced the commercial availability of TrackWise Digital’s AI Processing Agent, an agentic AI capability for life sciences manufacturers that is designed to streamline customer complaint processing and compliance while reducing cost-intensive manual oversight. In advance of its general availability, the solution has been operating in production for five months at a leading medical device company, where it successfully processes thousands of complaints per day.

Research indicates that 70% of medical device recalls are traced back to quality issues detected through customer complaints.[1]

When managed reactively, complaints can become isolated across production lines, undermining product quality and patient safety. By adopting TrackWise Digital’s AI Processing Agent, life sciences manufacturers can detect systemic issues before they escalate to costly recalls or even patient safety incidents.

“Modern life sciences organizations need smarter, faster and more connected tools to stay ahead of the quality and compliance challenges associated with the life-saving drugs and medical devices they produce,” said Jim Masso, President and CEO of Honeywell Technologies Process Automation. “Our TrackWise Digital platform’s new AI-powered functionality addresses industry challenges by automating workflows while providing real-time risk insights all in one QMS.”

The platform manages the entire complaint lifecycle to resolution, providing insights for continuous improvement. The AI processing agent shares critical qualitative and quantitative data regarding hazardous situations and patient harm, documenting the link between complaint details and the associated risk. For life sciences manufacturers, this translates to enhanced regulatory compliance, data-driven decision making and ultimately improved product quality for customers.

“Life sciences manufacturers are under increasing pressure to strengthen compliance, minimize costly quality deviations and prevent disruptions that could put patient safety at risk, yet fragmented data can make emerging quality risks difficult to detect,” said Entesar Khalil, industry analyst at Verdantix. “Agentic AI, such as tools and platforms developed by Honeywell Technologies, can help connect insights across workflows, flag potential issues earlier and support more proactive, risk-based decision-making before problems escalate.”

The TrackWise Digital AI Processing Agent provides all the necessary tools for manufacturers to attain 21 CFR Part 11 compliance through the FDA and is commercially available now. For more information on Honeywell Technologies’ life sciences solutions, visit Honeywell.com.
