BEDFORD, Mass., April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Instrumentation
Laboratory (IL) today announced the appointment of Ramon E. Benet
as its Chief Executive Officer, effective May 1, 2011. Mr.
Benet began his career with IL in 1993 and was most recently Senior
Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Sales and Service.

Mr. Benet succeeds Josep Manent who served as CEO since 1999.
Under Mr. Manent’s leadership, IL re-engineered its product
development process and released new and innovative products,
resulting in growth more than double that of the industry.

Mr. Benet has over twenty-five years of experience in marketing
and sales in the in vitro diagnostics and consumer goods
industries. Prior to joining IL, he held marketing and sales
positions of increasing responsibility for Centocor Diagnostics,
Ortho Diagnostic Systems and Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis). Mr.
Benet holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona and an
MBA from IESE, University of Navarra, both in Spain.
