LONDON–(BUSINESS
WIRE)–Lantronix, a leading global provider of smart
connectivity solutions that enable virtually any electronic device or machine
to communicate and share data with applications and business and technology
professionals, today announced the global launch and general availability of
its EDS-MD™, a next generation medical device aggregator, based on the
award-winning EDS product family.
Developed specifically for the medical industry, EDS-MD
facilitates the secure access and management of medical devices in hospitals,
laboratories, and other healthcare environments. EDS-MD network-enables
equipment such as patient monitoring systems, glucose analysers, EKG machines,
ventilators and infusion pumps – helping deliver data from routine stats to
life-saving, critical patient information to virtually any location, device, or
healthcare information system.
“To deliver high-quality patient care, while still meeting
ever changing regulatory mandates, it is imperative hospitals have the means to
collect patient data and deliver it whenever and wherever necessary.” said
Phyllis Gotlib, CEO of iMDsoft, a global leader in Clinical Information Systems. “Lantronix
has proven to be a strong partner for iMDsoft, enabling our proprietary device
connectivity solutions. Our suite of products, together with Lantronix
technology, has had a significant impact on how hospitals all over the world
monitor and treat patients.”
A key feature of EDS-MD is galvanic isolation on all ports,
which provides the highest levels of safety for connected equipment, ensuring
any grounding failures or malfunctions are contained to that single port and do
not affect other connected devices.
“As long time customers, we have found Lantronix products to
be extremely reliable and easy-to-use,” said Ivo Milani, Quality Manager for
medical equipment manufacturer and reseller, Moelca, “Our healthcare customers
are under pressure to deliver high-quality patient care – which means
collecting and delivering clinical data to wherever and whatever device
necessary. EDS-MD should prove to be an exciting product to address these
critical challenges.”
