Memory Protection Devices touts new lithium battery holder

March 27, 2018 By Danielle Kirsh

memory protection devicesMemory Protection Devices (Farmingdale, N.Y.) is touting its new CR1632 lithium battery holder that is designed to be used with handheld portable devices.

The battery holder is designed with a heavy duty plastic body and battery contacts that meet the requirements needed for medical or consumer type products. They feature a gold-flash over nickel plating onto a phosphor bronze base metal and have low electrical resistance with intermittent free connections.

CR1632 lithium battery holders also have self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties that are UL 94 standard compliant. They are reinforced with glass fibers and have a lower profile at a height of 5.2 mm and weight of 0.93 g. The lithium battery holders are shock- and vibration-resistant and have been tested in a one meter drop test.

With its chemical and humidity resistance, CR1632 battery holders can be used in common sterilization methods like autoclave, chemical, ETO, radiation, hot steam and hot air. They have a 260ºC reflow and are wave solder compatible with bifurcated contacts that are corrosion-resistant.

CR1632 offers about 130 mAh of power and has a superior dielectric strength of 1,100 volts/mil.
