First surgeries for LifeSpine’s ProLift
Life Spine announced at the North American Spine Society that it initiated the first surgeries using its ProLift Lateral Expandable Spacer System.
“I have been utilizing ProLift for posterior lumbar approaches in my practice for the past few years and have been eager to start using the Lateral version. With ProLift Lateral, I am able to perform a micro-invasive lateral procedure with less disruption to the surrounding anatomy and fewer instrument passes than a traditional lateral approach with a static interbody. The implant can be expanded to whichever height works best for each patient which allows for a completely custom correction and disc height restoration,” Dr. Ali Mesiwala in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. said in a news release.
ProLift Lateral is designed to assist in the restoration and maintenance of sagittal alignment. It has multiple lordotic option of 0º, 7º and 15º and can meet patient size requirements with footprints of 18mm, 22mm and 26mm wide. It has heights ranging from 8mm to 20mm and length ranging from 45mm to 60mm.
