Novanta (Boston) today announced that it is acquiring Germany-based Arges for an undisclosed amount.
Arges makes intelligent subsystems for positioning and deflecting laser beams for medical materials processing applications, according to the company.
“We are impressed with the Arges technology and applications expertise and are excited for the Arges team to join Novanta,” Phil Martin, president of photonics at Novanta, said in a press release. “Together we will be able to offer our OEM customers with unique solutions for their challenging applications in advanced material processing, additive manufacturing, medical and many other fast-growing markets.”
Novanta expects to close the transaction by the end of the third quarter of this year upon approval from authorities.
