OKW touts wired medical electronic enclosures

June 12, 2019 By Danielle Kirsh

okw-new-connect-enclosuresOKW is touting its Connect wired enclosures for medical electronics, which are available in three sizes.

The enclosures are ergonomic and feature two shells. The first shell is convex for handheld use and the second is flattened with a recessed panel for a membrane keypad. The shells snap together, eliminating the need for metal screws.

Openings on the enclosures can accommodate cable glands for cables 0.134 in. to 0.232 in. in size. OKW’s cable gland kits include strain relief as well.

Connect’s end panels can be machined to accept USB connectors or LEDs and four attachment pillars in the flat enclosure enable easy mounting of a PCB.

The Connect enclosures come in three specified lengths, including 2.99 in., 4.56 in. and 6.14 in. They are also molded from UV-stable ASA+PC-FR.

OKW says that Connect enclosures are ideal for a number of hospital applications, including remote controls for beds and other equipment, patient monitoring and emergency call buttons.
