“If I were on the search committee, I would want to talk to serial entrepreneur Doug Kohrs,” said Thom Gunderson, a retired medical device industry analyst who was previously at Piper Jaffray.

“ZBH could benefit from his experience and modern thinking. He is one of the best medtech CEOs I’ve ever met,” Gunderson said.

Over his 35 years in the medical device industry, Kohrs has held top-level positions including president of Sulzer Spine Tech, president and CEO of American Medical Systems and president and CEO of Tournier. He’s been a board member of five different public companies, 20 different private companies and three nonprofit organizations, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Perhaps he’d be interested in bringing some entrepreneurial spirit to Zimmer Biomet?
