TeamSim is a complete inter-professional education package that simulates the real world teamwork needed for routine and complex laparoscopic procedures, providing healthcare professionals a faster, safer way to develop and perfect team-based, nontechnical skills with no patient at risk. TeamSim mimics real-world operating procedures; starting with a pre-brief/checklist to cover the patient-specific details/vitals, account for present staff, and acknowledge critical elements of the procedure itself. The TeamSim user-interface permits the instructor to remotely control the patient’s complications, equipment failures, blood loss meters, and other functionality, so the team does not know what may or may not happen during the case.
