EFI has established by clinical proof that their haptic feedback grasper enables surgeons to feel arterial pulsations. Feeling is still the missing link in minimal invasive surgery. This feeling is now given back through our haptic feedback grasper. Through an optical sensor in the tip of our grasper, tissue properties are translated into force feedback in the trigger of our hand piece.
During clinical validation it has been proven that the OptiGrip gives feedback on different tissue properties like arterial pulse. As you feel what you touch , the force used by surgeons to palpate tissue is 2 to 3 time less compared to traditional graspers, leading to more controlled and saver tissue manipulation.
In this study we analysed whether we could distinguish different tissue types. It was possible to distinguish veins from arteries, as the pulsation could be felt. The pulsation felt was so evident that you can even see the trigger of the OptiGrip mimicking the pulsation felt in the tip of the grasper.The haptic feedback can be set to different sensitivities for each specific tissue type. The OptiGrip lets you feel what you tough, leading to a reduction in tissue damage and possibility to differentiate different tissue properties.
