The latest news came yesterday, when Chief Operations and Supply Chain Officer Rogerio Branco announced on LinkedIn that Jamie Pickett has accepted the role of VP of global manufacturing at Medtronic. Pickett joined the company in October 2024 and had previously been VP of operational excellence and transformation.
According to Pickett’s LinkedIn page, she worked her way up through engineering and management roles at General Motors for over two decades before nearly five years in executive positions at defense contractor L3Harris Technologies.
“Many at Medtronic already know Jamie from her impactful leadership in operational excellence,” Branco said. “She has been a champion in driving our culture of continuous improvement, scaling consistent standards across our global network, and helping teams adopt new approaches to problem-solving. Jamie is known for challenging the status quo and encouraging her teams to do the same — all in service of our customers and patients.”
In her own LinkedIn post, Pickett said she was honored to accept the new position: “Medtronic is a special place where business meets humanity in a unique way, and manufacturing is where it all comes together. Every product we make ultimately represents a patient counting on us to get it right. I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead alongside an incredible global team and to build on the strength, expertise, and commitment that already exist across our operations.”
Pickett’s hiring is the latest in executive personnel shifts in Medtronic’s supply chain, manufacturing, and contracting operations. With the Minnesota-run medtech giant enjoying double-digit revenue growth driven by innovative technologies such as AFib-treating pulsed field ablation, leadership sees broader supply chain initiatives beginning to deliver structural efficiencies on the profit and loss statement, according to comments made during the company’s Q2 earnings call on Sept. 1.
More about recent Medtronic executive personnel shifts in supply chain and contracting
Branco, the chief operations and supply chain officer, joined Medtronic in May after 33 years at the global power management company Eaton. He replaced EVP of Enterprise Operations Greg Smith, who left in December 2025 to become chief supply chain officer at Walgreens.
More recent shifts in operations and supply chain leadership include the hiring of Joerg Schmidt, an experienced operations and finance executive from orthopedic device giant Zimmer Biomet, as the new VP and CFO of global operations and supply chain. Schmidt took over the role from John Barrett, who was promoted to VP of digital enterprise transformation at Medtronic.
Meanwhile, Derek Minnock, previously an executive at Medtronic’s Cardiac Ablation Solutions business, moved to a new role as VP of global contract manufacturing.
