Each year, Medical Design & Outsourcing compiles a list of the top 100 medical device companies across the globe and ranks the companies based on annual revenue for the most recent fiscal year. We also consider research and development spending because it can indicate where innovation is taking place in the industry.
According to our analysis, the majority of the companies that spent the biggest percentage of their revenues on R&D were companies in the lower quarter of the overall list, with Edwards Lifesciences and Dexcom being the exceptions.
