Plymouth, Minnesota — ProMed Molded Products, a contract manufacturer specializing in silicone and plastics molding for critical applications, has expanded the production footprint within its headquarters in Plymouth, Minnesota.

The new expansion accompanies added capabilities relating to automated manufacturing and inspection to increase efficiencies associated with silicone molding operations. The Class 7 clean room houses silicone molding presses up to 130 tons, automated inspection cells, and areas for secondary processing. These increased capabilities are ideal for supporting higher volume projects where components may range from 500,000 to tens of millions annually.

The expansion project is managed by Operations Engineering Manager Curtis Hodgin, who is eager to showcase the new capabilities to the marketplace.

“As we’ve supported and grown with our customers over the last 30 plus years, we’ve learned it’s critical to maintain a technical edge to deliver the quality product specialized markets, like medical devices, demand,” Hodgin said. “Pulling in greater automation into the molding operation, visual and dimensional inspection allows ProMed to continue to deliver superior quality of intricately designed components in an increasingly competitive space.”

The ProMed team will be launching production in the expansion later this year.
