QSM Diagnostics: Point-of-care infection detection
QSM Diagnostics is developing a point-of-care diagnostic device to identify bacterial infections. The company’s technology is a spinout from the research of its founder and CEO, Northwestern University chemical engineering professor Edgar D. Goluch. QMS Diagnostics is designing its initial product to help in the detection of urinary tract infections in human and animal samples. Company officials hope their products contribute toward limiting the overuse of antibiotics.
