How fathers and fatherhood inspired these medtech leaders

“Let’s get a show of hands of who grew up in a machine shop! My sister and I are the few girls that can say, ‘We did,'” Haupers told Medical Design & Outsourcing ahead of Father’s Day 2024.  “I’ve been in the med-device manufacturing space for over 15 years and it’s all thanks to my dad (and his dad). Prior to my role at Vantedge Medical, I held various positions at my father’s company Swiss Precision Machining, from machine operator to estimating manager to vice president of operations and finally president when my dad decided to retire.”

“Thanks to my dad, I am extremely passionate to this day about med-device manufacturing and the impact med-device manufacturing has across the globe. As I get older and now that I’m a mom, I see how blessed I am to have a father who taught me all that he knew and helped shape me into who I am today. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for what he has shown me in the space of machining for med-device. I love manufacturing — it’s in my blood. Thank you, dad for everything. I love you.”
