The CVRx Barostim is an implantable neuromodulation device that won breakthrough device designation from the FDA before its premarket approval (PMA) in 2019.

It was the first FDA-approved device “that uses the power of the brain and nervous system to target cardiovascular disease,” CVRx President and CEO Nadim Yared said at the time.

Earlier this year, data from a clinical trial supported Barostim’s use as a safe, effective and durable treatment for patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.
