The stapling device is for laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, delivering a continuous staple cutline of 23 cm, which Standard Bariatrics says is the longest in the bariatric device industry.
“The Titan SGS allows surgeons to plan and visualize the creation of the sleeve pouch anatomy with a single continuous cutline,” the company says on its website. “The stomach is then transected and stapled in one firing, minimizing the variability that can be introduced with each new successive short cartridge staple. The Titan SGS marks a milestone in our mission to create solutions that can lead to more consistent bariatric surgery outcomes.”
