Moximed raised $50 million in venture capital in the first quarter of 2017 in its fifth investment sequence, MoneyTree reports. The money was raised during its expansion stage of development. Investors include Advent Life Sciences, Australian Future Fund, GBS Venture Partners, Gilde Healthcare Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures, New Enterprise Associates and Vertex Venture Holdings.
The company develops unicompartmental load absorber implants for patients with painful knee osteoarthritis (OA). The implants do not require bone cutting or bone removal and they absorb excess joint load instead of shifting load to other areas of the joint.
